Petworth! We are seeking housemates to move in the first week of April. This is a very spacious 3rd floor bedroom with a large attached nook/walk-in closet. There is a bath right outside the door, shared with only one other person. Rent is $ including water and electricity, gas runs about $ per person (with slight variance based on seasonal utilities usage). About the house: We live in a b i g Victorian house on a quiet and pleasant block in Petworth. We are located 6 blocks from the Petworth metro, and only 2 blocks from: the bus, the Petworth library, Petworth swimming pool, Yes! Market and Safeway and the bustling restaurants, coffee shops and comedy club of Upshur Street. We've got a spacious kitchen with lots of storage, the common rooms lounge and dining room on the ground floor can come furnished or unfurnished if you have furniture. Outdoor spaces include small herb garden in the front, a wraparound porch and romantic lighting, and nice size back garden with good lawn space and a fire pit. The front and back gardens are well maintained by a gardening service included in the lease. We have radiant heat and new appliances. Our lease just ended and we are signing another year-long lease. We'd be happy to have new roommates join the lease as well. It's not a problem to get off the lease early, as long as enough notice is given to find a replacement. The house isn't usually busy or loud. We're looking for someone to not only fill the room, but someone we click with who wants to feel like part of our home. The house will be an opportunity to build new house culture.
